  • Best Products For Your Post-Wax Care Kit

Hands holding post wax skincare products

After a wax, your main goal is to keep your skin smooth and irritation-free. The secret? A post-wax care kit with a few essentials that help prevent irritation and extend that freshly waxed feel. Your esthetician will apply a calming product after your wax, but it’s smart to have reliable products at home or in your travel bag to manage any potential discomfort. Here are my must-have items:

    Ingrown Hair Treatments

Keep those pesky ingrowns in check with a serum or oil designed for post-wax care. There are many post-wax products available, but these are my favorite:

    Budget: Tend Skin Solution

It’s a classic that’s been around for a long time and works for many of my clients. Some people complain about the smell, but it will dissipate. You’ll have to transfer to a smaller bottle to take on a carry-on.

Splurge:  Fur Oil Ingrown Hair Treatment

This tiny bottle smells lovely and is best for those with sensitive skin. You get what you pay for- this itty bitty thing works magic. Use daily, but sparingly. Remember: a little goes a long way.

    Exfoliating Body Loofahs/Gloves

A few days after your wax, a gentle exfoliation will help keep ingrown hairs at bay. Look for a soft, exfoliating mitt or cloth that’s easy to travel with.

    Kitsch Deep Exfoliating Glove

I love these gritty gloves because they actually scrub off my flaky, dry skin.

Almooni Natural Loofah Exfoliating Body Scrubber

If your skin turns red easily and cannot handle “gritty,” this type is more gentle.

    Hydrocortisone Cream

If you’re prone to redness or irritation, a small dab of hydrocortisone cream can help reduce inflammation and red bumps. Apply sparingly for immediate relief.

Aveeno Maximum Strength 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream with Pure Oat Essence

    Gentle Body Wash

Avoid scented, harsh soaps after waxing. Opt for a mild, fragrance-free body wash to cleanse without irritating your skin. Transfer to a small travel bottle to carry-on in your luggage.

Budget: Cetaphil Ultra Gentle Refreshing Body Wash

Ideal for sensitive, freshly waxed skin

Splurge: La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash

La Roche-Posay works very well with for my dry, eczema-prone skin.

    Loose Clothing

If you’re heading out after a wax, loose, breathable clothing is a must. Tight fabrics can rub against your skin causing irritation. A soft cotton T-shirt or lounge pants are perfect for post-wax wear.

SANTINY Women’s Cotton Sweatpants Yoga Lounge Casual Pants Open Bottom Sweat Pants for Women

With these essentials, you’ll keep that freshly waxed skin smooth, calm, and vacation-ready. Adding these to your post-wax routine will help you feel more comfortable wherever your travels take you. If you’re local and ready for a wax, book your appointment today!
